Asia - Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) was founded in November 1989 in Canberra - the Capital of Australia. It has been the largest economic sector all over the World. Vietnam joined this organization on 14 November 1998. Being held from 12 to 19 November 2006 in Vietnam for the first time, the summit of APEC 2006 is the most important political event in the year. The leaders of 21 member countries take part in this summit to discuss its main theme: a dynamic community for a prosperous and sustainable development To welcome this meaningful event, the Ministry of Posts and Telematics issues the stampset “Greeting APEC 2006”, one value of 800VND. The special issuance function is held on 16 September 2006 in Hoi An Town of Quang Nam Province.
