The Lunar New Year Festival is the biggest traditional festival of Vietnam and has been celebrated by thousands of generations. It is the transitional time between the old year and the new; between the running cycle of heaven and earth. Tet festival celebrates human values including the relationship of man, nature, and the universe through the four seasons of the year.

Tet is also the time for Vietnamese people to think of their ancestors and origins; to show deep gratitude to someone who has helped them, and to express affection with their neighbors.

To warmly welcome the Lunar New Year of 2007, on the fifteenth of December 2006, the Ministry of Posts & Telematics (MPT) issues the stampset: "Year of the Pig" consisting of 02 values with their denominations of 800d (3415) and 8,000d (3416).

The stampset features a well-fed Pig family gathering in a warm spring atmosphere that represents a prosperous new year and good luck for all families.
